American Airlines & Afterward: Mr Nicholas Bredimus
Ever taken note of the extent to which the so many advances in Information Technology have thoroughly redesigned air travel and hospitality as you used to know them in the past decade or so? The driving force behind this is New Jersey’s own Mr Nicholas Bredimus. His CV covers time-saving software, aircraft safety developments, and even the design of upmarket homes. Examining Mr Nicholas Bredimus’ lineage you can easily tell he was bound to achieve the top. His family traces its roots as long ago as the era of Rome’s glory and proudly boasts a varied background. His maternal family originates from Germany and Scotland. The paternal line, however, originates in England and Luxembourg, from where his forebears migrated in the late 1800s.
That remarkable spirit prevailed on arrival in the U.S. Growing up one of seven children, Nicholas had a father who worked as a mechanical design engineer, and a mother who earned her living as a practicing nurse. He settled for a time in Kansas City, Texas, Arizona and a township named Reston in Virginia.
Once his education had been completed, he found himself in quite a few respected roles with some of the most important companies in the airline industry. Republic Airlines, Trans World Airlines (TWA), Hughes Airwest - all three would at different times respectively name him as a VP. Most important, though, was his effort as a gifted software architect working with the airlines. His insight into aircraft maintenance management programs, now commonplace in the entire airline business while originally produced for one specific company, led to what is probably his best known piece. He would go on to examine recording and making bookings. For both room and flight reservations he developed software systems to take on much of the work required prior to that point. Pushing forward into yet another technology, he designed a networking program to automate ticket ordering - another first.
Mr Nicholas Bredimus has even taken on a number of positions entirely outside of software design, keep in mind. Responsible roles with American Airlines and American Express were to come, and of course he launched a business of his own in the early 1990s. As you read this, however, Mr Bredimus has withdrawn from his airline connections and the software development industry, but he’s still making best use of his inventiveness. He’s at work now mastering architecture - mixing the needs of top notch quality with real environmental concern. Just further proof of what a dedicated desire can actually accomplish!
