Goats

If you have land that has a lot of brush on it and don’t have a bulldozer or the resources to manually move it, then buy a goat. Goats will clear out your land like nothing you could ever imagine. They will eat all the brush up and make your land look like a million bucks. Take the area that you want to be cleared out and build a fence around it. Place the goat in the area with plenty of water, and let them have at it. If you have hundreds of acres that need clearing then you might need more than one. If you have a female goat, you can even get goat milk, which is a great source of protein and other healthy ingredients for your body. If you have kids then a goat will make for a fun pet. Why bother with weed whackers’ when a goat can do a better job? Name your goat something like “amazing eater of brush”, or some other fun name that gets you to associate fun with it. This way every time that you think about the goat or see it, you will remember how much it is helping you out. Natural brush clearing is always better than brute force with something like a tractor or bulldozer. Goats do make an odd sound, which can make you, and your kids giggle a lot. Even saying the name goat is fun.

Even though the Property Index is really a rather young company, established in March 2007, they have established expert status very quickly. On closer scrutiny, they are a pretty undemanding company focusing entirely on offering guidance to everyone who is designing to buy, sell, etc. real estate across the world. Their promise is to help you out discover squarely what you have need of swiftly plus, even better, sans hassle.

It’s one of the truly trendy countries at the moment, and in view of the scenic splendor and the great weather that surrounds you all the time, how can you be wrong? Realty in Dubai City is very rich in history, culture and art, this area of the world has been and still is home to quite a few indigenous cultures.

Some 30 years ago you would find very few of Englishmen looking for real estate in Dubai City. Ask just about anyone who has emigrated to Dubai City and they’re likely to tell you the same. Quite a few people would descry it as a basically irrelevant vogue and others descry it as a that’s quite a fetish! Owner Builders! Save the Dollars Build Your Home and Have Your Dream!

Filed under: Home Improvement — admin at 5:25 am on Thursday, May 29, 2008

If you ever thought of building your house you need to read this. I built my house and had full design and construction control and I was NOT a general contractor! There are many advantages to building your own home. From saving money, creating your dream design and home style, owner building is very satisfying.

I will tell you the steps I took and how you can do the same.

Let’s take your property and make your dream home come true!

If you are going to the bank to finance this, you will apply for a construction loan as an “Owner Builder”. When the loan is approved the bank issues you progress payments based on the phase of construction you are at. The amount of the check issued to you is based on a percentage rule that the bank uses. They also send a loan agent to confirm. Then your payment is issued to you so you can forward payment to your sub-contractors (companies you hire). You’re the “owner builder” or general contactor.

The first thing to do is decide on the design or style of home. The square footage (size of home), ceiling height (8ft or odd sizes), wood frame verses CBS block, the number of rooms are some of the items you need to consider.

Explore some home design books. They offer a lot of information about material costs and the floor plans (the drawings that show your layout of the rooms) are open to redesign to your taste. You get to visualize your house.

The square footage is directly related to the cost and budget you wish to work in. Cost can range from $45 a square foot or higher. Get lots of quotes and research material costs and save dollars.

When the construction materials come into play ceiling heights are important. Odd sizes or overly tall heights will increase wood costs tremendously because cutting wood to make this work will leave a lot of “leftover drops” which are too short to use elsewhere. Expect some leftovers but consider keeping heights standard.

Depending on where you live, the weather, insects and costs of materials in your area will help you decide on whether to use wood frame or concrete block to build your home. Also when you talk to your architect he will also advise you. Use his knowledge he is familiar with your area and what materials to decide on.

Once you have a design ready the next step is to get this drawn by an architect. His job is to take your home design and redraw it to the correct local building codes and standards that are required and essential to building a safe structure that will last a lifetime. He will help you with material choice, room sizes and layout, floor coverings, roof shingle or tiles, placement of home on property, exterior wall coverings and overall style. These drawing will also have to be signed and sealed by the engineer. It may be your architect/engineer or one who he recommends. The engineer’s job is to assure that the design and materials used are structurally safe and strong enough to withstand the elements and ok for you to live in. This cost can range from $2,000 - $4,000. This process is important, so take the time to review and completely be sure you like the design. Get at least seven (7) copies of these blueprints. You will need to distribute them to different departments and subcontractors.

The first place to bring your drawings is the building department. This is where you submit your drawing for approval so you can get the permits to begin construction. This can take a few weeks for the plan reviewer to look at your plans and make any revisions to your drawings, if any, and return them to you with his stamp of approval. Then you may apply for the permits and setup the account they will issue you for calling in your inspections as you progress along the construction.

Change The Style Of Your Interior With A Minimum Of Costs

Filed under: Home Improvement — admin at 3:04 pm on Friday, April 18, 2008

The style of your interior depends for a great part on the decoration on the walls. Using the right picture on the right place can make your room look bigger. I experienced this for myself when I came in this business. I do sell reproduction paintings, you know.

Actually, I came in the reproduction painting business because I was amazed about what one painting can do to your living room. Let me explain. I had an old painting on my wall that looked very nice. But, there was something missing. I decided that I had to replace it. I always wanted a Van Gogh, but I knew I would never be able to buy one.

After a few months I discovered that there was a business that did just what I was looking for. I bought a reproduction painting from them, and this is the way my own business started. I was overwhelmed by the artistic talent of the reproductionist who captured the realistic impressionism of Van Gogh. So I decided to work together with these guys.

I figured out they use the same techniques the old masters used. With several painters who are specialized in one artist, and only reproduce work of that artist. There are specialists of Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, Gauguin and a lot more impressionists.

Since I started this business I feel like helping other people realize there dream. They are affordable for everyone. You can already buy a “real” Van Gogh for as less as 120 USD. This is not too much for a beautiful lasting post-impressionistic piece of artwork. If you are searching for this kind of timeless house warming painting, go and check out my website at http://www.repropaint.com

Dense and Beautiful, What More Do You Want?

Filed under: Home Improvement — admin at 4:32 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Do you have beautiful laminate flooring in your home? For the most part, laminate floors are easy to clean because they are so dense. If you have done any polishing you will notice that the polish does not stick! The only maintenance required is a little vacuuming, dusting, and mopping, and maybe wipe with a damp towel a few times. Most laminate flooring manufacturers carry warranties between 10 and 25 years against wearing, staining, or fading. You will find that your floors will look beautiful for many years to come when you own laminate wood flooring. If you want your floors to look new for many years, here are some simple tips to follow: Vacuum or dust-mop to remove loose dirt and damp-mop using warm water, but remember to not saturate the floor with too much water.

Laminate flooring is easy to keep clean. When washing your floor, make sure you change the water regularly to keep it clean and do not use waxes or polish. Never use steel wool abrasives or other cleaning powders. If you spill something, wipe it off immediately and don’t allow the liquid to stand on the floor including any from pets’ water bowls. The main enemy for laminate wood flooring is dirt, so remember that fine scratches happen over time and can create a dull finish just by normal wear and tear.

Try to use cushion bottom protectors under table legs and chairs. Use floor mats at all entranceways and vacuum regularly. Also, use the dust mop to get the grit off. Remember to read the information supplied with your laminate flooring, and if you get any scratches on it try and get a touch-up stick from the manufacturer. Remember, damage does happen, and if you severely damage a board in your floor, have a professional come and replace the damaged plank or planks. Here are some excellent spot removal ideas. If you get oil, tar, or rubber heel marks on the floor, use a neutral cleaner or a light-colored cloth with nail polish remover, if needed. If you get wine, beer, blood or pasta sauce on it, use warm water and a neutral cleaner on a clean, light-colored cloth. Remember with just a bit of routine maintenance, your beautiful laminate flooring will look great for years to come!
