Founded in 1979 by Larry and Frances Jones, the Christian nonprofit relief group Feed The Children operates internationally.

Thirty years after its inception, Feed The Children continues to reach out and serve those in need. In fact, it has expanded to become one of the largest private organizations in the world. Committed to providing relief to the hurting and the hungry around the world, its aim is to bring basic necessities like clothing, food, and medicine to victims of natural disasters, war, poverty, and famine. Over the years, Feed The Children has remained committed to its mission by serving families and children in around 118 countries globally.

In 2008, the organization gave out food and other basic necessities to different families and children in about 34 countries and all 50 American states. A total of 135 million lbs. of food and basic goods were handed out in that year alone.

For the American states, the organization follows a program that allows the distribution of food to needy families through the help of partners from the corporate world. These companies donate food and other basic supplies that the families and children may need. Additional donations come from individual donors who usually shoulder the costs for product transport.
