Costa Maya: The Last Unexploited Coastal Paradise

Filed under: University Of Real Estate Brokering — admin at 8:41 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Though it almost seems impossible in today’s over-populated, over-developed world, there are still some lots of untouched coastal paradise available at affordable prices. Mexico’s Costa Maya region is one of the last remaining undeveloped costal areas in the Western hemisphere. Located on the tranquil Caribbean Sea just south of Cancun, Costa Maya consists of miles undeveloped coastline zoned for residential living.

The Costa Maya area is rich with natural beauty and pure activities that encourage a peaceful, healthy lifestyle. Snorkeling and diving off the beaches of your own residential coastline is still a possibility in this unexploited coastal paradise. The Mesoamerican Coral Reef in the oceans off the Costa Maya beaches is the root of an entire ecosystem of enchanting, colorful fish and sea creatures.

The hidden lagoons around Costa Maya are well known among fishermen for their plentiful supply of snapper, barracuda, snook, tarpon, and numerous other types of large freshwater fish. Dotting the landscapes and the skies around the lagoons and flats are some of the 350 species of local birds such as flamingos, white pelicans, spoon bills, ibus, jabirus, and frigates.

Beach horseback riding is also a relaxing reality for those who purchase residential lots along this unspoiled strip of coastline. As the sweet Caribbean breeze blows off the ocean, you can enjoy the tranquility of looking out over the horizon from the saddle of a horse at nothing but pristine nature in full color.

The area is also home to some of the richest cultural artifacts and architecture left over from the days of the ancient Mayans. Visiting ruin sites like Chaccoben and Kohunlich are like turning back time and stepping into a civilization where art influenced every creation and mystical gods ruled the land and the skies.

When you’re ready for a little adventure, Cancun is just to the north and offers a variety of cultural and tourist adventures. Cancun is a bustling, yet peaceful city where you can enjoy dinner cruises, parasailing, eco-parks, golfing, bullfighting, ballets, live music, and more. Once you’ve had your fill of enjoyment, you can head back to your peaceful beachside villa.

The lots along the Costa Maya beaches are diverse, residentially zoned, and guaranteed buildable. These pristine patches of land allow you to build your dream bungalow with your choice of architectural design. Whether your dream is a wall full of crystal clear windows or a roof that slides open to reveal the cobalt blue sky, you can literally create your own private world with a patch of unexploited Costa Maya real estate.

Give a Bird a Home; Leave a Legacy

Filed under: Gardening Infos — admin at 7:19 am on Wednesday, April 30, 2008

When I was a teenager we walked the banks of Utah’s Jordan River and counted the birds for the Audubon Society during the Christmas Bird Count. Right after WW II, we recorded our maximum count. We saw 139 species of birds and many thousands of individuals.

Then construction of new housing moved in.

In just a few years the Christmas count for that area dropped from 139 species to 13 species. The river had considerable hunting pressure, but the majority of birds were not affected. Those species that were affected had habitat in which to hide when the bullets were flying.

Not all birds can maintain population in the face of hunting. That’s why we now have laws outlawing the killing of birds. Hawks are particularly susceptible to hunting pressure. They are out in the open and can be killed by rifle fire from a great distance.

Many bird speicies along the river could tolerate hunting pressure. What they could not survive was the loss of habitat. Those species that could not find new habitat disappeared.

The sad thing was this: The habitat could have been preserved if someone had thought about it. Just how difficult is it to maintain habitat along the banks of a river? Do builders have to buy every inch of ground, remove all the foliage, and drive birds and other critters away?

You would think that maintaining the habitat, with walking paths for the new families moving in, would be something to be desired. There could be an economic advantage.

To learn more on the loss of habitat for birds and other wildlife go to: http://training.fws.gov/library/Pubs/mbd_habitat_loss.pdf. The last 50 years have been devastating. Any bird watcher (birder) who was alive at the end of WW II can show you by his annual bird list, or will tell you, that birds are rapidly disappearing.

Here are some ideas to preserve our birds and wildlife:

1. Teach your children to never trap or kill birds and other wildlife.

2. Take them bird watching. Teach them the value of birds.

3. Visit local and even more distant wildlife preservation areas. See a refuge map at: http://www.refugenet.org/new-general-info/map.html. If you buy a Duck Stamp, you will save money on entrance fees.

4. Buy your children binoculars, telescopes, telescope cameras, magnifying glasses, bird books, and other items to create interest in wildlife.

5. Join a local club such as the National Audubon Society. Take part in the club activities. You will meet some nerdy but delightful friends. (Well, they are not all nerdy, just the best birders.)

6. Watch wildlife features on television. If they conflict with Wheel of Fortune, record them for later viewing.

7. Contribute to wildlife preservation activities.

8. Create a layout of your home and yard. Study ways to make your areas more wildlife friendly. Buy or build a few bird houses. Hang a feeder for song birds. Place feeders for humming birds. Plant bushes and foliage according to what you learn from books and the Internet. Make sure they are suitable to your area by visiting a local garden shop. Learn what you can do to your yard to promote wildlife and bird habitat at: http://www.audubon.org/bird/at_home/.

9. Enjoy wildlife through photography. Grab a paintbrush and paint a bird on your mailbox. Teach your children to draw and paint birds or buy them a book on how to do it.

10. Have your community place wildlife provisions in building codes. Use local ordinances to protect all beneficial wildlife.

Once you take a personal interest in wildlife and wildlife management, things can only improve where you live. You will be a person that cares and changes things for the better. Life will be more meaningful.

Your children will continue your family tradition I taught my children how to identify birds. One of my sons is very busy in his medical practice but he often calls me when he sees a new bird species and he sends or emails me photos of birds and other wildlife.

Where does he see birds and wildlife? He sees them in his yard, but mainly in a park near his home.

If you create an environment for wildlife, you won’t have to go that far to see it.

Creating a Resume From Scratch

Filed under: Help 4 U — admin at 12:16 am on Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Do you have an old dusty resume or are you creating a resume from scratch? Either way, this article is meant for you.

Writing a resume is not that hard, but it does take a little time. You need one to find a good job, so take some time and create a resume that is professional, easy to read and reflects your qualifications in a positive, energetic way.

Remember that everything about your resume is focused on the employer, not you. You have to get the employer interested enough in you to want to call you for an interview. That is the whole purpose of the resume. Even though it is your skills and accomplishments that are on the resume, they are there to show the employer that you can meet all the requirements of the job in which you are interested.

Now, it’s time to focus attention on the resume itself. Think of the sections included in a typical resume. There is the heading, objective, education, experience and “other” sections. Each one needs to be written professionally and with attention to the employer’s needs. Grab a pen and paper or whatever you choose to use (a word processing program is also great) and start writing down some important information.

Section 1: the heading. This is the easiest section to write. Make note of your current address, phone number and email address. If you are still in school, list both your home address and your school address.

Section 2: the objective. What do you want to do in your first or next job? Write down your goals and career plans. When you write the objective for your resume, remember that you are to focus on the employer’s needs, not your own. Show the employer what you intend to do for them.

Section 3: education. You should know where you went to school, so note the school, city and state where you attended, the dates you attended, the courses you studied and your GPA if it was good.

Section 4: work experience. Think about what you have done in the past which could potentially influence an employer to want to hire you. If you are writing your first resume, include anything you have done for volunteer organizations, churches and school organizations, too. After you have done this, highlight anything that complements your career goals or the job you are seeking. If it is not directly related, then don’t use it.

Section 5: other. This could include: awards, honors, publications, activities and other such items. Use this section to emphasize your achievements, team sports and anything else that the employer might be impressed to learn about you.

Once you have a working copy of your resume, proofread it and check for grammar errors, typos and other possible resume mistakes. The fastest way to get your resume thrown into the garbage can is to have misspelled words and/or typos on it. Revise your resume as much as necessary to ensure it is error-free.

Now you can see that writing a resume is not that hard. Yes, it does take a little time, but it is worth it when you are working in a great job doing something you enjoy doing.

We all know relatives who can’t cook. Not that we are experts in culinary delicacies, but when an inedible concoction hits your plate with a thud, it takes some special manners and facial control to compliment your host.

An in-law of my wife’s who has since passed away, mentioned proudly that dumplings would be part of the coming feast at her house. Misshapen, gray lumps of congealed flour and water sank immediately to the bottom of the soup, lying there like raw clay ready for working. Only by dividing these door stops in tiny pieces were they swallowed at all, being quickly sloshed past our taste buds with the wickedest of wines. Unsurprisingly, no-one took seconds.

While not strictly a relative, a well-meaning neighbor lady repaid any and all favors done her with a beautifully wrapped dozen of her own home-made cookies. Better named ‘conversation stoppers’, one cookie could dry out your mouth for fifteen minutes. Only wild pointing at the rest room and effort to smile through powdered lips could save you from decorating the table with a shotgun of wheat pellets. Sneakily taking out the garbage at three in the morning, we had to remember to thank our kindly bakery chefs the next day for their delicious contribution.

One newly-wed couple rendered a barely edible meal of sawdust meat loaf and marblized beans, unfortunately followed by a carrot cake made with still-raw carrots, easily identified in each slice. She apoligised for the slightly burned crust on the meatloaf, but her young husband sincerely complimented her with the statement that it reminded him of his Mom’s recipe. A blue gelatin dessert filled a bowl like a country lake with little plastic ducks floating on top. Luckily the extra water in the mix made it possible for the ducks to actually swim.

The other night, my wife (who is a superb cook) miscalculated the cooking time for the ravioli, bringing new meaning the to phrase, al dente. I’m still chewing. On the other hand, some diners have not a kind word for the chef especially when the dishes are undeniably delicious. Even after three helpings and much smacking of lips and uncovered belches, these gourmands have only a ‘Menza, menza” or ‘It was O.K.” to say. Next time I hope they go to MacDonald’s.

Love to write, paint (graphicly), and eat.

Four Big Questions That Could Change Business

Filed under: House Of Management — admin at 10:27 am on Tuesday, April 29, 2008

What if people . . .

* Called a meeting only when they had a specific goal supported by a detailed
agenda?

* Checked with the key participants to help them prepare for the meeting?

* Involved all of the participants in the work during a meeting?

* Obtained results with a team process based on consensus?

* Took responsibility for implementing the decisions made in a meeting?

Could this help a business become more profitable?

What if people . . .

* Helped others express their ideas during a conversation?

* Created a safe environment that facilitated clear thinking and free expression?

* Treated each other with respect in their conversations?

* Listened carefully and completely to what the other person was saying?

* Let others be the star in their conversations?

Could this help work proceed more efficiently?

What if people . . .

* Understood the goal for a presentation before preparing for it?

* Spoke with key people in the audience to learn about what they hoped to gain
from the presentation?

* Rehearsed what they planned to say with a clock (to make sure that they finished
on time)?

* Spoke about the audience and their needs instead of about themselves?

* Delivered compelling presentations that informed and inspired others?

Could this help these leaders influence others?

What if people . . .

* Could recognize how others preferred to think, work, and communicate?

* Knew their own strengths and how to apply them for maximize benefit?

* Knew their weaknesses and how to manage them?

* Were able to work together in harmony?

* Could earn trust and respect from each other?

Could this help people get along with each other?

Advantages Of Cheap Virtual Dedicated Server

Filed under: Web Tips — admin at 6:36 pm on Monday, April 28, 2008

Most webmasters started off using single domain hosting or shared web-hosting services. Shared web hosting means you share a server with dozens of other webmasters. Typically, shared web hosting plans allows you to have more than 1 domain per shared web hosting account with a predetermined hard disk space and bandwidth. The cost is usually pretty low. You only need to pay around 3-10 dollars per month.

Although it is cheap to host your website on single or shared web hosting accounts, there are many disadvantages you should be aware of.

By the nature of shared hosting, the server resources are shared among many websites, therefore it is very easy for resources such as CPU and memory to be used up quickly. Certain types of websites such as proxy sites are known to generate high CPU utilization, therefore if your website is on the same server, be advised there is a possibility of your website going down. Spam complaints against other sites on the same server will also affect your website. Any form of denial of service attack against someone else hosting can impact on the uptime of your website.

Also some web hosting companies over packed too many hosting accounts on one server causing the server to be slow and sluggish. The end result is your website is up but takes too long to load and display properly.

How can you do to avoid this issue?

Years ago, the only solution is to get a dedicated server. However, nowadays you can get a cheap virtual dedicated server for less than 30 dollars a month.

A cheap dedicated virtual server or VPS allows you to run your sites as if you own the server virtually. In reality, the dedicated server is spilt into multiple virtual dedicated servers. The main advantage is that each virtual dedicated server has control over it’s own resources such as CPU, RAM etc. So each virtual dedicated server is totally isolated from other virtual servers and will not be affected if other webmasters bring their servers down.

Some web-hosting providers also have unmetered bandwidth, which is a plus.

So Are There Any Disadvantages in having a virtual dedicated server?

There are not many major disadvantages except for cost. It will cost a little bit more on hosting. The other disadvantage is you need to be technically proficient in administering the server. However, some web-hosting providers also can provide managed virtual dedicated server. It means they will help you to manage the server. Examples are routine server maintenance, security patches etc.

With increased speed and reliability from using cheap virtual dedicated server, you will rest easy that your websites are always up while you are sleeping.

Keeping Abreast of Plastic Surgery

Filed under: Cosmetics, Help 4 U — admin at 6:34 pm on Monday, April 28, 2008

Too many people are getting plastic surgery these days and they are doing so, without doing the proper research. And frankly, too many people are getting plastic surgery for the wrong reason. Free will is free will and people can do what they want. But I can’t tell you how ridiculously sad it is to see teenage girls heading to the plastic surgeon with mommy and daddy because they want bigger boobs or lip implants. The media constantly tells women, young and old, that they are inadequate because they don’t look like the airbrushed girls in the magazines and commercial advertisements. Nobody on the earth is perfect by media standards. Photoshop makes them look perfect.

People need to stop focusing on their outward appearances and look a little deeper for this intangible thing, called self-worth. Your self-worth doesn’t reside within your cup size or dress size. Self-worth resides in your heart, your character and drive. Do things that are good and you’ll feel good. Do what is right for yourself and others, you will feel good. Looks inevitably fade, fashions will change and you will always be left with the thoughts in your mind. Forget plastic surgery and altering your outside, work on your inside.

Newbie’s Introduction F1 Motor Racing

Filed under: Shopping Binge — admin at 5:26 pm on Monday, April 28, 2008

In the early period of the 1900’s, F1 Racing went ahead with unbalanced racing cars and elder gentleman drivers, even though the real Formula One competition did not take place until the nineteen-fifty’s. While the many years passed and the title became more popular, it soon became comprehensible that Formula 1 was the pinnacle in motorsport. The racing vehicles were the fastest, the knowledge was the most developed & the racing drivers were at the height of their physical shape coming from countries all over the planet.

With the introduction of sponsorship funding, F1 took on it’s more commercial shape & is nowadays be regarded as being very big business ? with venture capital reaching millions and even billions of dollars with ease. With huge success comes politics and now and then it?s who you know and how much wealth you are in possession of that acquires you what you desperately want. Formula 1 Motor Racing is knotted with conspiracy theorists ? I will admit to being one of them ? but depending on how wrapped up you would like to get in the Formula One society, that side of things is painlessly discounted. What really matters is what arises on the race weekend.

Touring from pillar to pillar across the planet for around eight months of the year, F1 Racing embarks in many different countries large and small, prosperous & destitute, with magnificent environments, charming habitants and lots of indigenous stories to be soaked up. Covering Friday, Saturday and Sunday, a F1 weekend is a challenging ride, from early testing, to the final laps of the grand prix. For detailed guides and profiles about F1 Circuits, then visit F1Tribute.com today.

The central organisation consists of a F1 race every couple of weeks. Now & again the calendar is played with a little bit & there are Formula One races on one after another weekends, or at times you have to go a handful of weeks before even seeing the well-known Formula One drivers again. Once it is time for the next Formula One race, you can scrutinize the news for your preferred Formula One constructor as they arrive at the destination. Friday involves practice sessions, Saturday is for qualifying & Sunday is the actual race.

There are many brands of cheap DVD players such as Alba, Mustek, Lite-ON, Bush, GOODMANS, Samsung, LG, and Philips that are priced below $100. However, the cheapest DVD recorders from the most popular brands such as Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic, Sanyo and JVC start from $120-$150.

Most of the cheap DVD recorders are also good DVD players. They are also compatible with CDs, VCDs, CDR, MP3, DVD-R, DVD-RW, CD-RW, and some other formats.
